In August 2025, to celebrate our new partnership with the British-Estonian Chamber of Commerce — giving B3CF members access to the BECC events programme and membership benefits (and vice versa) — our members joined the BECC Garden Party at the British Ambassador’s Residence in Tallinn.

Among the guests was long-standing member Matthias Fritsche, from OhMyRibbon who brought an extra touch of style to the occasion by creating a striking bow for a feature car and donating a €100 prize to the charity raffle. The day’s networking proved invaluable: one new connection soon led to an enquiry from an Estonian member about a commission for their anniversary celebrations.

When I first received the invitation to this event, I was genuinely excited — I knew I’d be meeting new people. In the end, the experience far exceeded my expectations.

At the First Malawi–EU Investment Forum in November 2024, I connected with university leaders, business owners, and fellow professionals across Africa and Europe. These connections quickly bore fruit — by December 2024 and January 2025, we had signed two MOUs in Malawi and launched collaborative projects linking nine universities from five African countries with our Swedish education partners.

My role in the EU delegation — with travel, accommodation, and expenses covered — was made possible through my company’s membership in the British & Commonwealth Chamber of Commerce in Finland.

Standing in front of the beautiful Umodzi Park Hotel in Lilongwe, I couldn’t help but think: this is just the start of a new chapter for our partnerships and projects.
